Steven’s journey into hair began in fashion.

Trained in Fashion and Textiles at Central Saint Martins, London, his early work was rooted in colour, texture, and movement — an understanding that continues to shape how he approaches hair today.

“Hair felt like fabric to me — something you could cut, colour, and manipulate to completely change how it looks and feels.”

That instinct led him into hairdressing, where he quickly established himself as a name to watch. By 2000, he had opened his first salon in Bournemouth, later recognised as one of the South’s standout destinations by Cosmopolitan Magazine.

What followed was a career that moved confidently between salon, session, and editorial. From backstage at London Fashion Week to television work, pop videos and industry competitions — including reaching the finals of the L’Oréal Colour Trophy — Steven built a reputation for work that felt polished, modern, and quietly distinctive.

His work has featured in publications including Vogue Magazine, Elle Magazine, Marie Claire, and Hairdressers Journal, alongside front covers and editorial campaigns.

After more than a decade co-leading a multi award-winning salon in North Devon, Steven now leads THE HUB with a more refined focus — working with a smaller, highly skilled team and placing emphasis on time, attention, and individual care.

His work centres around tailored colour, softness, and wearability — including refined blonding, lived-in colour, and natural grey blending that grows out seamlessly without harsh lines.

Alongside this, Steven has developed a specialist focus on menopause-related hair and scalp changes, offering a more informed, supportive approach to hair that may feel different than it once did.

Appointments are intentionally limited, with availability typically scheduled several weeks ahead.
